LONDON – Textile and fashion industry stakeholders that operate in Europe, and who have set ambitious climate reduction targets to meet the requirements of the EU Green Deal, could struggle to meet their scope 1 and 2 reduction targets – never mind scope 3 supply chain emissions.
That’s the upshot of a new report that says carbon reduction efforts in Europe are likely to fall short of existing commitments due to geopolitical instability and changing economic priorities.
Overall, it says, the EU could miss climate targets by a decade, without taking urgent action now.
