LONDON – UK waste recycling charity WRAP has warned brands and retailers that spiraling levels of fashion and textile production are at risk of wiping out the crucial environmental gains and other positive steps they have made in recent years.
The warning can be found in WRAP’s recently published Textiles 2030 annual progress report, which highlights how brands that have signed up to the environmental voluntary agreement reduced the carbon impact of the clothing and textiles they produce by 12% and water by 4% on a per ton basis between 2019 and 2022.
