BRUSSELS - A coalition of 16 NGOs has released a joint statement outlining what it wants to see in the European Commission's proposals to ban products made with forced labour from the single market.
Signatories include Anti-slavery International, the Clean Clothes Campaign, Fair Trade, Fashion Revolution, GoodWeave International, Human Rights Watch, IndustriALL and the World Uyghur Congress.
The proposals, which were unveiled a year ago and follow similar moves in the US such as the Uyghur Forced Labour Prevention Act (UFLPA), will apply to products made both in and outside of Europe.
