SYDNEY – Global sports apparel brand Under Armour has signed an AUS$9 million (US$5.86M) annual supply deal with Hemp Black – a subsidiary of Australian-based Ecofibre – to provide speciality yarns treated with a patented activated carbon process that’s certified by the Cradle to Cradle Institute.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) will see Hemp Black supply Under Armour with its bio-based yarns for an initial 3-year period, which has allowed the company to invest in new production technology.
