LONDON - Waste charity WRAP has ended its 'Love Your Clothes' campaign after nearly a decade following a decision by the UK government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to withdraw funding.
WRAP launched Love Your Clothes in 2014 to help change the way people buy, use and dispose of clothing. It aimed to inspire people to love their clothes through repairing, upcycling, swapping and buying secondhand.
"It has been a truly inspirational project with long lasting impact. However, due to a change in funding priorities by Government and following feedback from our Textiles 2030 Citizen Working Group, WRAP feels it can no longer maintain Love Your Clothes as an active communications tool," it said in a statement.
