CAMBRIDGE - Researchers at the University of Cambridge have launched a project to speed up the transition to close loop synthetic fibre recycling by the end of the decade.
The university's Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Development is to run a sector-wide workshop to help industry experts and policy makers identify strategic policy pathways to achieve the goal.
The workshop, developed in response to the revised EU Waste Framework Directive and the EU Strategy on Sustainable and Circular Textiles, aims to help the industry move away from the use of virgin and non-closed loop sources of synthetic textiles.
