LONDON - A major new study on the microfibre impacts of the textile industry has concluded that changes in wet processing, such as dyeing, offer the most potential for tackling pollution.
The 21-month research programme was led by the Forum for the Future sustainability non-profit, in partnership with vertical textile manufacturer Ramatex and Swedish fashion giant H&M.
Entitled 'Tackling Microfibres at Source', the project was supported by the UNDP Ocean Innovation Challenge and also involved the Nanyang Environment and Water Resources Institute, VDE Consultancy and University of Technology Malaysia.
