AMSTERDAM - The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) has revealed that the results of its much-anticipated third party review of the Higg Index suite of tools are not expected before the middle of this year.
The SAC last year confirmed the planned review had been brought forward after consumer watchdogs declared the use of data from the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI) to be misleading and potentially illegal on consumer-facing product labels.
In a blog on the SAC website, Jeremy Lardeau, the SAC's vice president of the Higg Index, has now revealed that the report and recommendations of the independent experts appointed to carry out the review are not expected until June.
