PARIS – French fashion conglomerate Kering has launched the third iteration of its Generation Award, which this time focuses on materials, designs and business models that promote a circular economy.
Applicants will have their solutions scrutinised by a panel of industry leaders – spanning fashion, academia, sustainability and innovation – before they’re whittled down and the winner is awarded €100,000 (US$106,000).
Marie-Claire Daveu, Kering’s chief sustainability and institutional affairs officer, commented: “Following our Coming Full Circle report released last year, we are taking the circular economy as a key focal point to help a fresh generation of startups explore new opportunities and contribute to the industry transformation at every link.”
