LONDON – British fashion retailer River Island has released a new sustainability strategy it has called ‘The Kind Society’.
The company has outlined 12 commitments which align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that relate to: people, planet, principles and partners.
“Fashion is the heart of River Island, it always will be, but we recognise that the industry needs to undergo significant change,” chief executive Will Kernan said. “We believe fashion can, and should, be a force for good, and that belief informs our sustainability work.”
