AMSTERDAM – The New Cotton project, a three-year EU-funded initiative launched in 2020, has released a midway update in which it highlights how consortium leader Infinited Fiber Company (IFC) is producing its Infinna recycled fibre from waste materials for brands.
Notably, project partners Adidas and H&M are said to have successfully tested and developed new styles with Infinna fibre, which will be placed on the market later this year.
As the project enters its second phase, members of the consortium are expected to focus on data collection and analysis to streamline a ‘circular’ supply chain, whilst academic partner Aalto University is said to be working on a white paper which will detail the project’s learnings.
