WAALWIJK – Textile chemicals specialist Stahl has submitted a carbon reduction target covering its Scope 3 emissions to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for approval.
The company’s goal is to cut its greenhouse gas (GHG) production by a quarter in the next decade, and expands on the Scope 1 and 2 targets it set shortly after the Paris Climate Agreement’s inception, which it’s since surpassed.
“Aligning our GHG targets to the Paris Agreement goals is ambitious and will require continuous technology advances throughout the value chain. We are already working closely with our upstream partners to reach the 10-year milestone, and we will report on our progress each year in our annual ESG report,” said Stahl CEO Maarten Heijbroek.
