ZEIST/ZÜRICH — An initiative which aims to reduce audit fatigue in the textile and apparel industry by encouraging third party standard and certification systems to align has released its initial findings.
The Standard Convergence Initiative (SCI) was launched last year by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF).
It argues that "preventable and tragic" accidents, combined with growing concerns over the use of forced and child labour, have led to a proliferation of standards from third parties, brands and retailers.
