LONDON – British fashion retailer Primark has joined forces with environmental non-profit Canopy in a commitment to promote sustainable forestry.
Primark has become a signatory of both the CanopyStyle and Pack4Good initiatives, meaning it’ll work to adopt ‘next generation’ alternative fibres across its operations and only use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified materials where necessary.
Lynne Walker, director of Primark Cares, the firm’s sustainability strategy, said: “We know that change takes time, and we can't do it alone, so we’re delighted to have Canopy's guidance and support as we embed more sustainable sourcing and manufacturing practices in our business.”
