ZURICH – Traceability solutions provider Haelixa has collaborated with stakeholders in Peru’s textile industry as part of a United Nations-led initiative focused on improving transparency within the country’s sector.
In close collaboration with native cotton farmer cooperative Costach and textile company Creditex, the project is testing the efficacy of tracking premium Pima cotton using Haelixa’s marker technology, which is embedded within the fibre and can be identified throughout the supply chain.
Gediminas Mikutis, chief technology officer and co-founder of Haelixa, commented: “For brands traceability provides not only an important mechanism to support their sustainability claims, but is also a great starting point for storytelling, giving their partners in the supply chain a face and voice.”
