NAPA - Investments in next generation materials to replace animal-based products in fashion, and other industries, are growing rapidly, according to a new report from the Material Innovation Initiative (MII).
MII's 2021 State of the Industry report reveals that investments last year totalled US$980 million - despite the pandemic - more than twice that of 2020 and nearly as much as the previous four years combined.
MII works to promote the use of next gen materials to replace animal-derived materials which it argues drive climate change, environmental degradation, public health risks and animal cruelty.
