DHAKA - Bangladesh is to introduce national guidelines on the use of chemicals in the textile and garments industry in a bid to better protect workers and the environment.
The Ministry of Commerce is preparing the National Chemical Management Guidelines with support from the German development agency GIZ (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).
It will give textile and garment factories guidance on the efficient management of chemicals in the country which currently has no national policy or guidelines on chemical management.
