LUBBOCK – Industry non-profit Textile Exchange has extended its collaboration with blockchain solutions provider Textile Genesis to pilot a new traceability programme that applies to the former’s standards.
Textile Genesis’s platform requires stakeholders at each stage of the supply chain to input production data which establishes oversight into proceedings. It has previously been leveraged by brands and manufacturers keen to authenticate the sustainability credentials of the materials they’ve purchased.
The new ‘eTrackit’ programme will work in much the same way but will digitally map textile fibre throughout the supply chain to ensure it meets the Texan NGO’s certification standards, starting with its Global Recycled Standard and Recycled Claim Standard.
