GENEVA - Better Cotton has launched a revision of the principles and criteria behind its Better Cotton Standard which aims to make production more sustainable.
The revision will address both environmental and social areas, and will focus on key issues including climate change, decent work, soil health, biodiversity and water use.
Better Cotton, formerly known as the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), said the review was linked to its membership of the ISEAL Alliance of sustainability systems under which policies had to be reviewed every five years.
