SHAWBOST - Harris Tweed Hebrides, the UK's main producer of Harris Tweed, has introduced FibreTrace traceability technology to connect Scottish wool growers to the end consumer, embracing full supply chain transparency.
The partnership, in collaboration with British Wool, is the first time that FibreTrace has helped to launch a fully traceable wool into the global market, sharing the entire lifecycle with consumers.
FibreTrace's patented technology tags textiles with a unique luminescent pigment that can be tracked throughout apparel supply chains and authenticated in the finished product.
