MILTON KEYNES – A new report on circularity has once again stressed the need for more robust recycling infrastructure, ‘sustainable’ development and resource efficiency if the industry is to reduce its environmental impact.
Authored by the UK’s Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW) and Business in the Community (BITC), it makes recommendations such as reshoring manufacturing to reduce waste, exploring extended producer responsibility (EPR) and addressing product design.
The likes of Lenzing, Sympatex, Worn Again Technologies, W. L. Gore and the universities of Leeds and Basel have offered their backing to the document.
