AMSTERDAM – Impact organisation Circle Economy has published a new report which explores how the Netherland’s transition to a circular economy could prove a huge boost to jobs in fashion supply chains.
The analysis, undertaken by the organisation’s Circular Jobs initiative in partnership with HIVA and the Goldschmeding Foundation, suggests that if robust infrastructure was established to support resale, recycling and repair services, it could spark a 25 per cent increase in job opportunities in the country.
Intrinsic to this, the report’s authors say, will be government-led action, training opportunities and strong support for the scaling of collection and recycling services.
