PHNOM PENH - Garment workers in Cambodia are reportedly struggling to access essential basic supplies - including food - during the current lockdown imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The Garment Manufacturers Association of Cambodia (GMAC) called on its members to provide what aid they could to their workers while the Ministry of Labor also urged factory owners to help workers.
Thousands of messages requesting emergency food aid reportedly flooded a forum set up by City Hall in the capital city, Phnom Penh, where some residents said their household incomes were down to zero and they feared running out of food within days.
