AMSTERDAM - The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which runs certification schemes for products - such as man-made cellulosic fibres - to promote responsible management of the world's forests, is under fire from Greenpeace.
The environmental movement has launched a new campaign - entitled 'Destruction: Certified' - which accuses forestry certification schemes, including the FSC, of "greenwashing" the destruction of ecosystems.
However, the FSC immediately responded by accusing Greenpeace of "bias" over the report which it said was "based on a misperception of what certification is".
