SAN FRANCISCO – Online resale platform ThredUp has partnered with designer Christian Siriano to launch what they hope will be the new universal symbol for second-hand clothing.
The pair’s creation, a logo shaped like a coat hanger which hints at a circular economy through the use of an inward-facing arrow, is emblazoned with the word ‘thrifted’ and has been developed to champion second-hand fashion and the booming resale market.
“We invite consumers to put the logo on any of their thrifted clothes, and we invite other resellers to embrace this logo as their own,” ThredUp's vice president of marketing, Erin Wallace, commented.
