LEEDS – British supermarket retailer Asda is this month trialling a second-hand clothing pop-up shop in its Milton Keynes store in the UK to raise awareness of the mounting levels of overconsumption across the fashion industry and to encourage shoppers to reuse, recycle or repurpose their garments.

The company, which retails garments under its George brand, cites how an estimated £140 million worth of apparel goes to landfill in the UK each year. Asda will look to gauge interest in its Re-Loved pop-up concept in-store, with the view to rolling it out cross the nation if appetite is sufficient.
