VANCOUVER – Textile Exchange’s Corporate Fiber and Materials Benchmark (CFMB) programme will beta test a new tool that can help fashion and textile industry stakeholders address their impact on biodiversity.
Developed alongside the Biodiversity Consultancy, US non-profit Conservation International and South African pulp and paper company Sappi, the Biodiversity Benchmark will enable businesses to understand their operational impacts, before charting a pathway to deliver positive biodiversity outcomes.
“The fashion and textile industry now has an opportunity to establish a leadership position in how it tackles biodiversity and nature loss,” said Dr Helen Temple, the Biodiversity Consultancy’s chief executive.
