NORTH CAROLINA – Apparel company HanesBrands has announced new 2030 global sustainability targets and has established a three-pronged approach through which it will look to drive improvements for people, the planet and within its product manufacture.
In-line with its ambition, the firm has signed the Science Based Targets Call-to-Action Commitment Letter, pledging to develop SBTs of its own by 2022.
“HanesBrands has an opportunity to make a greater impact through our workplace practices, environmental stewardship and community building initiatives. We’re ramping up our efforts to pursue ambitious goals that will connect our strategies with the global priorities of the U.N. SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals),” said CEO, Stephen B. Bratspies.
