SINGAPORE – One year on from the launch of its new textile dyeing auxiliary for polyester and its blends, which combines pre-scouring, dyeing and reduction clearing in a single bath, Huntsman Textile Effects claims collective water savings of ‘more than 130 million litres.’
Huntsman notes that current demand for polyester fabric is being driven by a ‘seemingly insatiable’ consumer appetite for sportswear and athleisure clothing – and says that sales in the sector have been on an upward trend for several years. “Even proving resilient amid Covid-19 market disruption.”
The disperse dyeing of polyester and its blends has traditionally been resource intensive, time consuming and costly.
