COWES – The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has outlined ten circular investment opportunities across industries including fashion, which it believes could “open up the way for a resilient recovery and a next wave of economic prosperity”.
The organisation says: “By fostering innovation and competitiveness, reducing resource dependency and environmental impact, and creating new jobs, the circular economy presents a promising way forward.”
For the fashion sector, compelling cases are made for financially backing rental and resale business models, and scaling collection, sorting and revalorization infrastructure in order to reduce consumption and prolong the lifespans of both garments and materials.
