SAN GERONIMO - Sustainable supply chain advocates Fibershed have produced an ecosystem mapping initiative focused on textile manufacturing on the western side of the USA.
Fibershed’s Regional Fiber Manufacturing Initiative (RFMI) maps the ecosystem for the regional supply and processing of wool, linen, hemp, cotton, natural dyes, and hides.
The non-profit, which aims to develop regional ‘soil-to-soil’ textile processes, says the project aims to enable people to buy clothing that is produced close to home.
