BRISBANE/GOTHENBURG - Australian brand Outland Denim and Swedish company Nudie Jeans have teamed up as founding members of a new programme to stamp out modern slavery from garment industry supply chains.
The Supply Network Intelligence System, developed in partnership with Australian IT firm Precision Solutions Group (PSG), seeks out instances of deliberate exploitation, slavery, and unsafe working conditions and puts methods in place to resolve them.
It is initially focused on organic cotton farms in Turkey where both Outland Denim and Nudie Jeans source cotton for their products but the intention is to broaden it out to other parts of the supply chain.
