LEIDEN – Swedish homeware giant IKEA has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to accelerate its transition to circular business practices.
The world's largest furniture retailer, which has committed to becoming a circular business by 2030, says the shared ambition is to create lasting impact and drive transformation towards a circular society.
IKEA already prides itself on its use of recycled materials with 59 per cent of the polyester used in textile products, including rugs, curtains, roller blinds, bedding, pillows, quilts, sofa covers, storage boxes and bags, being recycled polyester (rPET).
