METZINGEN - Fashion brand Hugo Boss is investigating claims that workers in its European supply chain are being forced to work in high risk environments despite the coronavirus pandemic.
A joint investigation by the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) and the German non-profit, Bread for the World, claimed that workers making clothes for Hugo Boss, and also Gerry Weber and Esprit, were being put at risk.
They said factory managers were continuing to force workers, who were paid far less than a living wage, to report for work in countries including Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia and Bulgaria despite the high risk of infection.
