LONDON – Animal rights group PETA has submitted a shareholder proposal to apparel brand Canada Goose, urging the company to stop using coyote fur and goose down in its parkas and undergo a “vegan transformation”.
The organisation points to the inhumane methods in which both coyotes and geese are caught and killed to supplement what is in fact dwindling appetite for animal-based products in apparel. It’s thought the brand’s shares fell by 42 per cent over the past year partly for this reason.
