AMSTERDAM - Sportswear brand Adidas has been declared the global leader in the Sustainable Cotton Ranking 2020 of how companies globally score on their policy, traceability and uptake of sustainable cotton.
The league table, published by Pesticide Action Network UK, Solidaridad and the World Wide Fund for Nature and based on research by independent agency Aidenvironment, shows significant progress in the use of sustainable cotton at large companies.
But it also highlights a lack of transparency and a growing gap between the companies that take their responsibility seriously and the many that still do too little or nothing.
