NAGPUR - The Indian cotton industry has converged on the Indian city of Nagpur for the second annual Cotton Trailblazers event with the aim of reviving organic cotton production in the western state of Maharashtra.
Delegates at the convention, co-hosted by C&A Foundation in collaboration with Solidaridad Asia and Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA), want to make Maharashtra a hub for the country's organic cotton industry.
More than 150 stakeholders - representing government, the apparel industry, academia, research institutions, civil society and farmer groups - descended on Nagpur to celebrate India’s leadership in global organic cotton production and turn the spotlight on organic cotton farmers.
