XINXIANG – Chinese viscose producer Xinxiang Chemical Fiber, otherwise known as Bailu, has completed an audit of its operations in-line with environmental NGO, CanopyStyle.
Findings indicate that Bailu has “taken immediate action to remove known high risks” in its supply chains, though it’s said greater insight from suppliers is needed to truly determine whether the firm poses any risk of sourcing wood from ancient and endangered forests.
Whilst Canopy congratulates Bailu for its work and continued investment to drive the broader implementation of its policy commitments, the NGO has outlined areas in which it believes greater sustainability gains can be made.
