Erik Solheim (ES), who was controversially asked to step down as executive director of the United Nation’s Environment Programme, still has his ear to the ground on sustainability issues. What then, are his thoughts on the fashion sector’s drive towards systemic change?
Do you think the introduction of the Fashion Charter can have a major impact on the fashion sector?
ES: I think it’s a good step in the right direction, for sure. Of course, the proof is always in the pudding, and so the action on the ground will define success or failure. But you need to start somewhere, and this is a good start.
