HONG KONG - Global apparel branding and packaging company SML has created a new coathanger which uses recycled chipboard to eliminate more than 50 per cent of plastic used in conventional hangers.
SML says its 'EcoHanger' is aimed at helping retailers and brands meet the increasing demands of consumers on the industry to embrace sustainable solutions and reduce plastic waste.
More than 15 billion hangers are produced globally each year and many end their lifespan at checkout to be immediately sent to landfill as most cannot be recycled.
