MELBOURNE – As part of its new Responsible Wool Strategy, Australian clothing brand Country Road has committed to eliminating its use of mulesed wool in all products with a wool composition greater than 30 per cent, by winter 2023, and in doing so reportedly becomes the country’s first major brand to make a time bound effort to mitigate the practice.
The company will support this by increasing the traceability of its supply chain by leveraging forensic technology from Oritain. Oritain’s authentication system enables users to monitor goods throughout the value chain to verify a product’s provenance and ensure it’s not been subject to counterfeiting.
