NEW ALBANY – Apparel retailer Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) has announced new sustainability targets through to 2025 and has concurrently announced itself as the latest signatory of the United Nations Global Compact; an initiative through which it will be required to make public its progress on all fronts annually.

Targets to source greater quantities of responsible materials – including cotton, polyester, viscose and wool – whilst reducing water consumption both in its denim production, scaling its recycling efforts and increasing engagement with various worker empowerment programmes are all said to align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“This is part of a long-term journey we’re on to ensure that sustainability is truly embedded throughout our entire organisation, with the focus of our new goals being on where we can have the greatest positive impact by 2025,” said Fran Horowitz, Abercrombie & Fitch’s CEO.
