PETERBOROUGH – A second-hand clothing website which sources clothing from charity shops, housing clearance centres and from the public has launched in the UK, hoping to carve a niche in consumer’s growing inclination to shop for pre-owned fashion.
And to mark the launch of the company in the UK, French-based Patatam conducted a survey of 1,000 UK adults, which found that one in three British women are conscious of the issues surrounding fast fashion, and for one in four the contribution that fast fashion has on the climate means they are now concerned about buying new clothes.
Notably, 64 per cent said they’d happily buy second hand clothing, which is up from 45 per cent in 2016.
