SPONSORED CONTENT - As global awareness of environmental issues increases, more and more consumers are concerned about the impact of the textile industry on the planet. Grandtek Asia Corporation has become one of the key drivers in leading Taiwan's textile industry towards a greener tomorrow.

GAC is one of the leading Taiwanese suppliers of performance fabrics. Founded in 2003, it has managed to partner up with renowned brands all over the world, setting pace in supplying some of the most modern, environmentally friendly, functional fabrics.

Transforming the industry can only be driven by innovation, which has always been one of the core principals at GAC. This results in GAC being often one of the first suppliers to bring innovative and cutting-edge materials to the market, working closely with its clients to offer the right mixture of value, performance and sustainability.

The latest focus material: NaiaTM and NaiaTM Renew, an Acetate yarn. As a bioplastic, it can offer good performance comparable to polyester in terms of cooling, wicking and drying, while being entirely biobased and biodegradable. Made with wood pulp from certified sources and acid acetate, a by-product of fermentation, it brings nature ever closer to performance textiles. NaiaTM Renew goes a step further by using up to 40% of recycled waste materials.

Another wood-derived material has been important in GAC’s collection: lyocell. GAC currently offers certified fabrics with Tencel, seaweed, zinc, cupro and even collagen, bringing a wide variety of functions to choose from. Breathability, great luxury hand feel, biobased and biodegradable features are what lyocell is well known for. And with SeaCell, Smartcel and Umorfil, skin-friendliness and health benefits in form of vitamins, zinc or collagen in the material itself puts the fabrics on top of many wish lists.

Recycling plays a major part at GAC. As the performance wear is still dominated by synthetics, it is our responsibility to recycle whenever possible as the new norm and standard. GAC offers fabrics with post-consumer recycled synthetics but also pre-consumer industrial waste yarn from textile waste for circularity within the industry.

GAC is bluesign certified, and also has GRS certifications available. GAC’s diverse range of collection features thousands of ready-made fabrics with many more being developed regularly. From all forms of knitted fabrics to performance wovens, it can tailor make the right fabric for customers’ needs.

Facing the future, GAC is committed to improving the industry level and making the shared future greener. Please visit GAC for more information.
