MELBOURNE - Researchers in Australia say most leading cities around the world are failing to deal with unwanted clothing with most textile waste going to landfill or being exported overseas.

The study, by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), analysed what happened to used clothes and other textiles in Amsterdam, Austin, Berlin, Geneva, Luxembourg, Manchester, Melbourne, Oslo and Toronto.
