WASHINGTON - The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) has pleaded with lawmakers in the US to step up enforcement of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and close the loopholes that have the potential to damage American manufacturers and facilitate the import of dangerous products.
The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) was passed to ensure that the importation of any goods produced wholly or in part in the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region of China is prohibited by Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930, and that such goods are not entitled to entry to the US.
