MARRAKESH - The apparel industry has been offering support to disaster relief efforts in Morocco where more than 2,900 people are now known to have died in an earthquake in the High Atlas Mountains.
Zara owner Inditex, the H&M Foundation and Decathlon are among those so far contributing to the emergency appeal for 100 million Swiss francs ($112m) launched by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
It comes as the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) urged its members, including apparel and textile companies which source from Morocco, to support their affected suppliers, workers and their representatives.
