SAN LEANDRO / BENTONVILLE - Carbon negative textiles pioneer Rubi Laboratories has linked up with retail giant Walmart in a strategic partnership aimed at producing affordable apparel at scale from CO2 emissions.
It includes a manufacturing pilot project which will test Rubi’s technology on-site at manufacturing facilities in the Walmart supply chain to capture and convert CO2 emissions into textiles.
The cellulose created will then be used in a brand partnership pilot involving the creation of a prototype garment and ultimately a sample apparel collection aimed at the mass market.
