BRUSSELS - MEPS on the European Parliament's environment committee have backed a proposed ban on the destruction of unsold textiles within the single market.
The European Union's (EU) ecodesign framework for sustainable products aims to make products last longer and be easier to repair, upgrade and recycle.
The original proposals did not include a ban, instead suggesting all large companies be required to report on quantities of discarded stock, but the European Council last month increased that to an outright ban.
