STOCKHOLM - The IndustriALL global trade union has attended H&M's annual general meeting to challenge the Swedish fashion giant to justify its continued sourcing from Myanmar.
IndustriALL says it values its constructive relationship with H&M which it says has a better ESG record than many of its peers. It was the first company to sign the Bangladesh Accord and a founding member of the ACT on Living Wages initiative.
"And yet H&M refuses to stop sourcing from Myanmar, a military dictatorship where unions are banned and foreign exchange are used to buy weapons," it said in a statement.
